The 2010 chapter is added to the legend that is the Sin City Soiree
Now that my mind isn't filled with cold medications, I've started putting some of my thoughts & visions of last weeks Soiree into words. Once I get started, it will be hard to shut me up, but I hope you like...
Well, another Sin City Soiree has come and gone. I'm sorry for the lack of updates and stuff, but I was getting my butt kicked extra hard this year by my post Viva exhaustion, which was accompanied by a REALLY gnarly sinus infection. There has been lots of post Viva activity to bring to y'all, and I know I've got lots of catching up to do, so lemme get right to it!
First off, it was another stellar year for VWS. Although the weather didn't always cooperate and we had a few bumps in the road due to on going construction at the VWS home base of the fabulous Tropicana, the crue sauntered forth proudly & fabulously to put on one of the best Viva's on record! We had about 60-65 attendees this year, and we totally left our gorgeous lipstick imprint on Sin City!
Fun follows the WildSide like the kids follow the ice cream man! We had another week filled with poolside antics, VIP treatment, love, support and suite parties that would make Van Halen jealous! We rocked the hell out of Vegas and in the process, our group became closer, tighter and welcomed many new and wonderful faces to our crazy, eclectic family!
As always my partner in crime, my sista, and the Louise to my Thelma, Nikki Belange & I did our best to not only put on a kick ass party, but do what we could to help our "family" grow as transgendered individuals. Without getting too sappy, I think we hit our mark perfectly. If you view VWS from the outside, it looks like a crazy sorority party taken to mega-extremes, but there is a really strong core message Nikki & I try to bring across, and that is love, acceptance, support and being proud of who you are.
It's really an amazing thing to see 50 - 60 people get together once a year, and from the word go, just act like a big, wonderful family! The smiles, the hugs, the laughter, the catching up is just the most heart warming thing you ever saw in your life. VivaWildSide may be one bad ass group of party girls & guys, but if you strip away that level of fun and frivolity, you will find some of the sweetest, most thoughtful people on the face of this earth, and it's totally my pleasure to be able to call them friends, and more than that, sisters!
I could (and will in this thread) go on and on about the Soiree and all our individual events, but for the moment, I will stop and just leave you with a beautiful slide show turned in by one of our artisan extraordinaires, Janie, who totally nails the vibe & essence of VWS!
